Pretty medieval manuscript of the day shows St Francis of Assisi appearing before the pope in a dream. We know it’s the pope because he appears to be sleeping in his regalia… and he’s had the foresight to take a strange vase-like thing to bed with him, just in case St Francis should appear…!
